Introduction

Interactive self-assessment

न sign-up है, न कोई data upload।

1Level · 01-10

01 / 25Level 1

CAPEX

Capital Expenditure

Formula / measurement

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

02 / 25Level 1

OPEX

Operating Expenditure

Formula / measurement

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

03 / 25Level 1

Revenue

Sales / Operating Revenue

Formula / measurement

Revenue = Selling price × Units sold (सरल उदाहरण)।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

04 / 25Level 1

Gross Profit

Formula / measurement

Gross Profit = Revenue − Cost of Goods/Services Sold।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

05 / 25Level 1

Net Profit

Profit After Tax

Formula / measurement

Net Profit = Total Income − All Expenses − Applicable Taxes।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

06 / 25Level 1

Cash Flow

Cash Inflow & Outflow

Formula / measurement

Net Cash Flow = Cash Inflows − Cash Outflows।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

07 / 25Level 1

ROI

Return on Investment

Formula / measurement

ROI (%) = (Investment से Net Gain ÷ Investment Cost) × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

08 / 25Level 1

Break-even

Break-even Point

जिस sales volume या revenue पर total revenue और total cost बराबर हो जाएँ, यानी न profit न loss, वह break-even point है।

Formula / measurement

Break-even Units = Fixed Costs ÷ (Price per Unit − Variable Cost per Unit)।

₹ Real-world example

Break-even 250 services पर आएगा।

Founder insight

09 / 25Level 1

Working Capital

Net Working Capital

Formula / measurement

Working Capital = Current Assets − Current Liabilities।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

10 / 25Level 1

Profit Margin

Gross / Operating / Net Profit Margin

Formula / measurement

Net Profit Margin (%) = Net Profit ÷ Revenue × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

2Level · 11-20

Business growth

11 / 25Level 2

CAC

Customer Acquisition Cost

Formula / measurement

CAC = Sales & Marketing Acquisition Spend ÷ New Customers Acquired।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

12 / 25Level 2

LTV

Customer Lifetime Value

Revenue-based LTV और gross-profit या contribution-based LTV अलग होते हैं, और फ़ैसलों के लिए profit-adjusted LTV ज़्यादा काम आता है।

Formula / measurement

सरल Gross-profit LTV ≈ Monthly Gross Profit per Customer × Expected Customer Lifetime (months)।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

13 / 25Level 2

AOV

Average Order Value

Formula / measurement

AOV = Order Revenue ÷ Number of Orders।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

14 / 25Level 2

Conversion Rate

Lead-to-customer Conversion

Formula / measurement

Conversion Rate (%) = Successful Conversions ÷ Eligible Starting Group × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

15 / 25Level 2

Burn Rate

Net Cash Burn

Formula / measurement

Net Burn = Monthly Cash Outflows − Monthly Cash Inflows (जब result positive हो)।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

16 / 25Level 2

Runway

Cash Runway

Formula / measurement

Runway (months) ≈ Available Cash ÷ Monthly Net Cash Burn।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

17 / 25Level 2

Churn Rate

Customer Churn Rate

Formula / measurement

Customer Churn (%) = Period में Lost Customers ÷ Start-of-period Customers × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

18 / 25Level 2

EBITDA

Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization

Formula / measurement

EBITDA = Net Income + Interest + Taxes + Depreciation + Amortization।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

19 / 25Level 2

ROAS

Return on Ad Spend

Formula / measurement

ROAS = Revenue Attributed to Ads ÷ Ad Spend।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

20 / 25Level 2

Valuation

Business Valuation

Formula / measurement

Illustrative method: Enterprise Value ≈ Comparable Metric × Selected Multiple।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

21 / 25Level 3

Unit Economics

Economics per Unit / Customer / Order

Formula / measurement

एक सरल order view: Unit Contribution after CAC = Revenue per Order − Variable Fulfilment Costs − Attributable CAC।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

22 / 25Level 3

Contribution Margin

Sales Minus Variable Costs

Formula / measurement

Contribution Margin = Revenue − Variable Costs; Margin % = Contribution ÷ Revenue × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

23 / 25Level 3

CAC Payback Period

Time to Recover Customer Acquisition Cost

Formula / measurement

CAC Payback (months) = CAC ÷ Monthly Gross Profit per New Customer।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

24 / 25Level 3

NRR

Net Revenue Retention

इसमें upgrades/expansion जुड़ते हैं और downgrades/churn घटते हैं।

Formula / measurement

NRR (%) = (Starting Recurring Revenue + Expansion − Downgrades − Churn) ÷ Starting Recurring Revenue × 100।

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

25 / 25Level 3

Economic Moat

Durable Competitive Advantage

Formula / measurement

₹ Real-world example

Founder insight

Quick revision

Revenue ≠ Profit

Profit ≠ Cash Flow

ROI ≠ ROAS

Gross Profit ≠ Contribution Margin

Customer Churn ≠ NRR

Frequently asked questions

Next step

  1. 1Revenue
  2. 2Net Profit
  3. 3Cash Flow
  4. 4CAC
  5. 5Repeat-Customer Rate
